139 candidates joining govt departments get appointment letters at Rozgar Mela in coimbatore:

Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment A Narayanaswamy handed over appointment letters to 139 new recruits at the Rozgar Mela that was held in the district on Saturday. The mela was organized at 44 locations across India. A total of 70,000 appointment letters were distributed at these events.

It is to be noted that the recruitments are being made with the support of the Union government departments, state governments and Union Territories. The new recruits would be appointed to various ministries and departments.
In Coimbatore, Union minister Narayanaswamy, chief income tax commissioner Seema Raj and BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan took part in the mela, which was organized by the income tax department.

Prime minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the new recruits. As per an official source, 98 of the 139 new recruits, who were handed over the appointment letters at the mela in the district, have been selected to the department of posts, 18 to the income tax department and the remaining others to the State Bank of India, Bank of India, and GST department, etc. Narayanaswamy said, “Rozgar Mela is an initiative of prime minister Narendra Modi to provide government jobs to 10 lakh youths in India”.

The recruitments are taking place through the Staff Selection Commission, Union Public Service Commission and the Railway Recruitment Board, etc., in a transparent manner.”

He said the Centre had handed over appointment letters to 4,30,546 candidates in the previous editions of the mela. “The beneficiaries include 3,61,763 males and 68,783 females, who were selected till June this year. At least 1,38,986 of them were hired by the railways and home affairs ministries, another 33,470 by the finance ministry, 18,635 by the defence ministry, 4,952 by the revenue department and another 11,136 by the higher education department.”
