In Tamil Nadu, ration rice, which is provided free of cost in ration shops, is bought from the public and smugglers sell it at high prices in Kerala. Serious action is being taken to prevent this.
In this situation, the Food Smuggling Prevention Unit police received confidential information that ration rice was being smuggled to Kerala through Nadupuni. Following this information, Sub-Inspectors Thiagaraj, Bharathaneru and the police patrolled Nadupuni Road on the orders of Inspector Gopinath.
Then the person who came in the moped that way saw the police standing. He then parked the moped and fled. Subsequently, the police arrived and unpacked the bundles in the moped, which contained 1 ton of ration rice. They then brought the ration rice with the moped to the Food Smuggling Prevention Division office.
