Agriculture’s contribution to India’s GDP increased in the last decade – Niti Aayog member at TNAU

The contribution and growth of agriculture to the share of GDP has increased in the last decade in India, said Ramesh Chand, Member, Niti Aayog at the 37th National Conference on Agricultural Marketing held at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore today.

TNAU is organizinig this conference between September 14-16 in association with the Indian Society of Agricultural Marketing (ISAM), Hyderabad. The conference was inaugurated today and it was presided over by Vice Chancellor of the varsity, Prof.V.Geethalakshmi.

Ramesh Chand further emphasized the need for reforms in Agricultural marketing so as to meet the demands of the agricultural sector. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Sathyanarayana, Secretary, ISAM, Mahendra Dev, President, ISAM, Shankar Narayan, NABARD and many other guests, and 150 participants took part.
