Coimbatore: A historic resolution has been brought in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly urging the Union Government to provide legal benefits to the Scheduled Tribes to Adi Dravidians who have converted to Christianity. The members of the Christian community have widely welcomed this development.
The President of the Pentecostal Churches, Apostle David Prakasam thanked the Chief Minister for bringing this resolution.
Apostle David Prakasam said: On behalf of the Board of Indian Pentecostal Assemblies and Pentecostal Churches, we express our sincere gratitude to our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.
For more than seventy years, Dalit Christians were denied reservations to the backward classes of the Christian community. But last week in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Trichy East Assembly Member Mr. Inigo Ardararaj raised a demand for the Christian people.
The Tamil Nadu government accepted the request and the Chief Minister proposed a resolution in the assembly and passed it. Also, they have recommended to the central government. Thanks for giving rights to the oppressed people who are backward in the society.
