Avinashilingam Varsity bags A++ Grade from NAAC
Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed to be reaccredited in the 4th cycle of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A++ Grade with CGPA of 3.65/4 on the 22nd of February 2022. The Grade is valid upto February 2027.
During the Press interaction, the Chancellor mentioned the significance of this achievement as one of the top women’s university with the highest rank. The assessment was carried out by the team with utmost professionalism and with due diligence.
The Team visited all the 36 departments and 12 centres of the Institute and various facilities on the campus. This was followed by a detailed presentation by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. V Bharathi Harishankar and discussions with Deans and Heads of various centres. They also had an interaction with Managing Trustee to understand the Governance and Leadership structure along with the Vision 2040 document and its significance.
The Chancellor also spoke about the new programs which will be launched under a new School of Allied Health Sciences. The infrastructure and the faculty recruitments are underway. Already they have made an MOU with few hospitals in the city which will help the students with practical exposure.
As a result of this NAAC ranking the university is at liberty to start a distance learning programmes, off-campus programs and also online programmes as a category I university.
The Vice Chancellor in her interaction said that the elearning courses will have the stamp of Avinashilingam university’s unique offerings in terms of Value Education and Indian Culture and Heritage as courses. This was also a highlight as far as the NAAC committee was concerned.
The institution has obtained 5th rank in ATAL ranking of Institutions, and 75th Rank under the National Institutional Ranking Framework which was released recently.
