Coimbatore district is under the Thondamuthur panchayat union. Rengasamy is the executive officer here. In this context, the BJP led by the District Secretary of the Non-BJP Workers Union Baskaran came to this office on the 22nd.
Then they suddenly put up a photo of Prime Minister Modi in that office. The bureaucrat who saw this said it was wrong to enter the office without permission and not to come in without a helmet.
For that, only pictures of BJP executives, Tamil Nadu First Minister MK Stalin and former First Minister Karunanidhi are kept in this office. But they have questioned why the photo of Prime Minister Modi alone was not placed.
They also went on to say that there was a government order to put up a photo of Prime Minister Modi. The incident caused a great stir.
The executive officer lodged a complaint with the Alandurai police. Police have registered a case against 10 people, including BJP executive Baskaran, under three sections, namely, making death threats, obstruction of government service and trespassing.
Bhaskaran was subsequently arrested by the police. He was later produced in court and remanded in custody. Police are also looking for 9 people involved in the case.
