Book on Bishop Timothy Ravinder titled ‘Ethical Leadership in the Corridors of Faith’ released
It was a confluence of religion harmony during the book release event today held at the Residency Hotel. The book titled “Bishop Timothy Ravinder : Ethical Leadership in the Corridors of Faith” written by Prasanth Appusamy was released by Santhalinga Marudhachala Adigalar, the 25th Pontiff of Perur Aadheenam and received by Coimbatore District United Jamaath President AR Basheer Ahmed, Gurudwara Singh Sabha President Gurpreet Singh, Dawoodi Bora Anjuman e- Burhani President Janab Shiak Moiz Katthawala in the presence of Coimbatore CSI Diocesan Council Vice President Rev David Barnabas, Hon Secretary Rev Prince Calvin, Treasurer DS Amirtham.
Santhalinga Marudhachala Adigalar, during his remarks recalled his association with Bishop during his college days at Ramakrishna Mission and how even in those days the institution was a confluence of faith with room mates from different religions having their own time to pray without disturbing the others. He has had interaction even in those days with the Bishop and its nice to see the person making a large contribution to people today. He recalled how the Bishop is always happy to help when it came to religious harmony and also heaped praise on his better half for what he has become.
It was a nice memories shared by United Jamaath President AR Basheer Ahmed on the schooling days that the Bishop and he shared the same values that were taught at the St George’s Homes. He recalled the way Bishop has come up with his hard work and how he has extended his influence across the people of his faith and more. He wished success for many more years and he said the book captures some of the most intricate details and the pictures tells a thousand stories. On one of the pictures in the book which has the Bishop washing his car, he said they learnt all these during their schooling days cleaning toilets, waxing wooden floors and also keeping a 6 km stretch of road clean in the campus.
Gurudwara Singh Sabha President Gurpreet Singh, in his address hailed the Bishop for his compassion and extending his association whenever they sought his cooperation for any interfaith event. The book captures his vision and also give insights into his personality.
Dawoodi Bora Anjuman e- Burhani President Janab Shiak Moiz Katthawala in his speech wished more success to the Bishop and said this book will be a testament to the work the Bishop has accomplished.
The author Prasanth Appusamy in his address covered at length how he started to work on this book and deems it a privilege to write on one of the most wonderful people he has come across and it was a mission that has been accomplished. He thanked the Almighty for bestowing this opportunity and it was very passionate work which had blessings from the Bishop to the family and the whole of the community.
Senior Advocate Nandakumar, also offered felicitations and offered wonderful insights on the contents of the book.
Bishop Rev Timothy Ravinder in his acceptance address said that it was nice to see his school mate and college batch mate in such exalted positions and it was ordained that it will be. He thanked one and all for the kind words and also the wishes that they had for him. He underlined the wonderful aspect of religious tolerance that is unique to India and that’s why the world looks up to this country. He was also praise for the author for keenly observing his journey and putting into words. He thanked everyone from his family to the office, colleagues, to everyone in his extended family of CSI.
