Camford hosts its 15th Annual Sports and Athletics Meet, “CAMFORDICS 2024
The Camford International School proudly hosted its 15th Annual Sports and Athletics Meet, “CAMFORDICS 2024,” on 7th December 2024 at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore.
Ms. Geethu Anna Jose, the accomplished former captain of the Indian Women’s National Basketball Team and the proud recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award, was the Chief Guest of the day.
The thrilling day commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, followed by a soulful prayer song performed by the school choir. Students from Grades 5 to 12 showcased a stunning march past, setting an energetic tone for the event. The Chief Guest then officially declared the meet open after the school council members led the oath-taking ceremony.
One of the most exciting moments of the day was the torch-bearing ceremony, where achievers in various sporting disciplines passed on the flame of sportsmanship, symbolizing the spirit of camaraderie and competition. The vibrant and energetic performances that followed included Fit-O-Fine Magic, Flex To Heal, Spectrum Sprint, Flash & Clash, Foam Sculpt & Sport, Band Beats & Feats, Gravity Deifiers and Turbo Tactics.
The track and field events followed, with the sporting stalwarts of the school showcasing their talent, determination, and true sportsmanship. As the event progressed, it was time for the parents to join in and display their athleticism and competitive spirit, adding an extra layer of enthusiasm to the day.
The highlight of the day came with the prize distribution ceremony, where the ADMIRALS House was crowned the overall Sports Champion, and the MARSHALS House took home the March Past Trophy.
The event concluded with a Flag Retreat ceremony, followed by the National Anthem played by the school band.
This momentous day was witnessed by Mr. Arul Ramesh, the Chairman and
Mrs. Poongothai Arul Ramesh, the Correspondent and Dr.Poonam Syal, the Principal who graced the occasion with their presence.
