Candidate filing in Kinnathukadavu Municipality is being monitored by CCTV surveillance

Urban local government elections will be held in Tamil Nadu on the 19th in a single phase. The Tamil Nadu Election Commission has announced that the candidates contesting in the urban local government elections will have to file their nomination papers from January 28 to February 4. There are a total of 15 wards in Kinnathukadavu municipality.

There are 4,098 male voters, 4,422 female voters and a total of 8,521 third gender voters in the 15 wards. Candidates contesting in 15 wards have been assigned 2 Assistant Returning Officers at the Kinnathukadavu Municipal Office to file nominations. Nominations are being received from 10am to 5pm from individuals who wish to run in the election. All the candidates who come to file nominations are being monitored by CCTV surveillance cameras and police video cameras.

The municipality office is equipped with 5 modern surveillance cameras. After giving the candidate and the person accompanying him a heat test and disinfection, he/she is allowed to wear a mask and apply by the municipal authorities.

The Kinnathukadavu police are conducting intensive surveillance in the area around the Kinnathukadavu Municipal Council office premises for further security measures. Padmanabhan, the only independent candidate to contest in the 13th ward, filed his nomination on the 2nd day yesterday. None of the political parties has filed nominations yet.
