Cbe District Collector, City Corp Commissioner and City Police Commissioner release the Logo of Coimbatore Vizha
Coimbatore District Collector Mr. Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Mr. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Mr. V Balakrishnan IPS announced the launch date of the 17th edition of Coimbatore Vizha on Tuesday along with the Vizha committee. Vizha is to begin on Nov.23rd and will feature 200+events.
This edition of the Coimbatore Vizha will begin on November 23rd – Coimbatore Day and end on December 1st, 2024.
Arun Senthilnathan, Chair and Saumya Gayathri, Co-Chair of Coimbatore Vizha shared that more than 200 events have been planned besides a dozen new events like ‘Grassroot Motorsport‘, ‘Polo Premier League‘, ‘Wild Warriors – Obstacle Race‘, ‘Vizha on Wheels‘, ‘Unavu Thiruvizha‘, ‘Vizha Awards‘, ‘Vizha’s Own Parade‘ and much more by the Vizha Committee.
Of course, the Vizha will include its iconic Double Decker Bus Rides, Art Street, Exotic Car Rally, Isai Mazhai, Coimbatore Vizha Marathon and other signature events.
The idea to make Coimbatore Vizha to be during Coimbatore Day came from discussion with the Collector and the Commissioner.
This event is to set of a trail of activities that will culminate with the start of the Coimbatore Vizha. The team is all set to make an impact.
Mr. Sivaguru Prabhakaran said that he joined in the celebrations last time as he arrived and this time there is a lot of time to take things up. He said the events should use public places to the optimum so that the water bodies and other public spaces are appreciated.
As Mr. Balakrishnan said there is a new team and new ideas come up to make this event a wonderful one. He commended the team for including Wild Warriors – Obstacle Race and Polo Premier League.
Mr. Kranthi Kumar Pati, in his address said this is a wonderful occasion that Coimbatore is looking forward and there will be lot of social and business impact with these especially with sponsors tagging themselves from Coimbatore. This is a good way to encourage Coimbatore entrepreneurs.
As Coimbatore Vizha is a celebration of the Spirit of Coimbatore, the organizers have changed the usual launch period to coincide with Coimbatore Day, this time in order to make the event a memorable one for every Coimbatorean.
