CII Recognises KCT as Among “Top 5 Innovative institutions” in the Country for Industrial Innovation
Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) has been awarded as “One of the Top 5 Institutions” in the country by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) under Industrial Innovation Category for the year 2023.
KCT was the only institution from Tamil Nadu to be awarded at the prestigious CII Technology Conclave & Innovation Awards 2023 held in New Delhi on 15 December 2023.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Chitkara University Punjab, Defence Research Development Establishment (DRDE) Gwalior and Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) Ghaziabad are the other four institutions sharing the honour.
The CII Industrial Innovation Awards for Research/Academic Institutions serve as a platform to recognize and celebrate the innovative endeavours of institutions contributing significantly to industry, government, and society.
Through a comprehensive evaluation process, these awards aim to foster a culture of sustained innovation and recognize institutions that stand out as pioneers in their commitment to advancing knowledge and creating impactful solutions.
The awards cover a wide spectrum of innovations, including processes, products, services, technologies, and novel approaches that contribute to industry growth. They also assess the tangible results and effectiveness of new ideas.
KCT has clinched this honour for three consecutive years, making it the only institution from South India to do so! It’s a moment of immense pride as KCT stands out as the sole private Institute to receive this distinguished award for the third consecutive year!

In 2021, CII introduced the category of innovative institution award for academic/research & development institutions. KCT has been an active participant since 2021, showcasing its commitment to innovation.
