As the 14th Coimbatore Festival is scheduled to take place from the 2nd to the 9th of January, the logo known as the mascot was unveiled yesterday as a preview event for the festival.
The Coimbatore Festival has been held since 2009 to showcase the heritage of Coimbatore and to showcase the pride and cultural events of the district to the people of Coimbatore. During the event, which starts in the first week of January, a variety of events are held daily.
The show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes, but in 2021 it became a virtual reality show due to the Corona epidemic. With the corona epidemic now under control, the festival committee has decided to observe this year’s community break and celebrate in a special way.
Accordingly, various events have been organized from January 2 to January 9 to coincide with the 14th annual festival. While in the past these events were held in theaters and public places, this year the events will be held in pools refined under the Smart City program.
The festival will feature events in the arts, education, industry, sports, entertainment, business and hospitality. The preview of the event was held at the Valangulam Pool Park in Coimbatore.
The event was attended by District Collector GS Sameeran, Corporation Commissioner Rajagopal Sungara and other officials who unveiled the mascot for the occasion. Named Sikku, the emblem is based on the emerald dove, the state bird of Tamil Nadu.
