In a solemn event held in Coimbatore, the portrait of the late Covai Selvaraj, former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and the Tamil Nadu Congress State Assistant Secretary for Media Relations, was unveiled by Tamil Nadu Minister for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise, V Senthil Balaji. The Minister also paid floral tributes to the portrait, honoring the memory of the late leader.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Covai Selvaraj’s wife, Kalamani, and their sons Vignesh, Muruganantham, and Venkataram.
Among those present were district and party officials, including former MLA Na. Karthik, To.A. Ravi, Thalapathy Murugesan, Coimbatore City Mayor Ranganayaki, and Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar. District Assistant Secretaries Jayanti and Kalpana Senthil, as well as North District Treasurer Raghuman, also joined the event, alongside Executive Committee members like Airport Rajendran, Somu (known as Santhosh), and Constituency Party Secretary Karthik Selvaraj.
Additionally, several party and Congress representatives, including Bonus Babu, Sarath, Chandrasekar, Hariharasuthan, Karunakaran, Tamizharasi, Deivanai Tamizharasi, Viji Gokul, Jinnah, Pakkadai Muthumurugan, Sivaraman, City D.T. Babu, Senthil Karthikeyan, Hussein, and Senthil, were present to pay their respects.
The tribute event underscored the deep respect and admiration the community held for the late leader, whose contributions to the region were widely recognized.
