Coimbatore Millet Show all set to make a world record with 555 Millet products
Coimbatore, Oct 1. As the World is getting ready to celebrate the International Year of Millets 2023, the city of Coimbatore is leading the way with a road show with a display of millet products and unveiling of the World record of 555 millet products logo. The launch of the Millet Road Show will be held at the Nirmala College of Women, Red Fields, Coimbatore.
The event organized by M/s.Spirex Foods, Coimbatore and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, of Nirmala College of Women and powered by Mitti Ke Rang (MKR), By The Startups and YourCoimbatore.com had over 50 businesses showcase their millet products and some of them sampled with cooked items. The whole event was a precursor to the next big event to follow with the launch of world record for 555 millet products.

Rev.Sr.Dr.G.S.Mary Fabiola – Principal, Nirmala College for Women in her address to the media said:
We have immense pleasure to be a part of this wonderful Millet Road Show and happy to have started this in our campus. We believe this will be a big help to all the women entrepreneurs out there and inspire them to take their journey to the worldwide markets. The Launch of World record for 555 Millet products is another event that will showcase the ability of the women entrepreneurs to scale and make world class products. It is our commitment with the EDC and our infrastructure to help the women business / entrepreneur community to come together at our campus for such a endeavour in scaling their business. We hope they make the best use of this meet and introduce their product and showcase the products to a large audience.”
Dr. Balaji, Head Export Consortium, Tamil Nadu Agriculture College during his address outlined the opportunities that are available for the millet products and how this will help the producers in enhancing their livelihood. He also stressed the need for the marketing of millet so that it reaches a wider audience and everyone can benefit. He also praised the efforts for making the World Record for 555 millet products.
Mr. Rajkumar, Circulation Head The Tamil Thisai during his felicitation address commended the organisers for this event and said that millet would be the future of food.
Mr. Senthilkumar Rajappan, Founder YourCoimbatore.com spoke on the Millet Clusters & Ecosystem and Mr. Shameer, Founder, By The Startups spoke on the startup ecosystem and proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Earlier Dr. N. Krishnaveni – EDC Coordinator welcomed the gathering and Ms. Folentia Kamal, Dean of Student Affairs of Nirmala College for Women set the tone for the road show.
