Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools to conduct a sports carnival at Sri Sakthi International School
Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools will be conducting the 43rd Inter District Annual Athletic Meet 2023 at the Sri Sakthi International School, Thekkalur, Coimbatore from 9th to 11th Dec 2023.
Addressing a Press Meet here at the National Model CBSE School, Smt Navamani, the Chairperson and Senior Principal of Angappa CBSE School said that 85 Sahodaya member will come together to celebrate this sports carnival that has been well organised at a wonderful venue of Sri Sakthi International School. She also added that over 3000 athletes will participate in a lot of events across age category and also with boys and girls separately. Each of the schools have taken up an event and will be conducting them there with the best of athletes in participation.
A lot of talents from these meets have gone on to get good colleges with these events moulding good athletes and sports persons from the campus. This is a nice opportunity for them to get into the merit list via sports quota.
She also added that this helps the students to be physically and mentally strong and helps them mould to be a good human being and we at Sahodaya believe Sports is very important for students.
85 schools, their principals, management and students across the region have come together to host this event. This is happening after 2 years post Covid-19 so this year promises to be a great event and all the members have come together to make it happen. This has been possible because of the able leadership of Mr. Deepan of Sri Sakthi Institutions on ground. The event will be from 9th of Dec to 11th of Dec 2022.
The Collector, Dr. G S Sameeran, IAS has consented to be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the event. Dr. S Thangavelu, Chairman, Sri Sakthi Group of Institutions, Shri V Bhaskaran, Former Indian Hockey Captain & Gold Medal Olympian, and Shri M Rajagopal, District Sports Officer have consented to be the Guest of Honour.
The Valedictory ceremony on 11th Dec will have Smt. Thiruvalar Selvi, Chief Educational Officer of Tirupur, as Chief Guest and Shri Arokia Rajiv, Indian Olympic Athlete and 4×400 Asian Record Holder as Guest of Honor.
She also said that post this the children can participate in the official CBSE sports event at the next level regionals and have a chance to move to National with their performance.
Dr. S A Nirmala, Associate Secretary, Principal of Coimbatore Public School, Mr. Abhishek Paul Jackson, Managing Director of Benglen Public School, and Dr Geetha Laxman, General Secretary, Principal of National Model Senior Secondary School were present during the Press Conference.
