Coimbatore Uppilipalayam signal intersection to get a makeover
The Coimbatore City Corporation plans to clean up the uppilipalayam signal junction by rooting ornamental plants on the median and both sides of the road, officials from the corporation’s central zone said.
Avinashi road flyover also known as Uppilipalayam Flyover or Roundana that connects the Northern and Eastern areas with other parts of the city. It is built across the railway line binding Coimbatore main junction. It is one of the most significant interchanges in Coimbatore and is crucial to carry traffic from each side of the railway line that cuts through the city.
The proposed 10km long flyover will commence from Uppilipalayam junction to Goldwin’s on Avinashi Road, to avoid heavy traffic congestion during peak hours.
The flyover is anticipated to have four lanes, with ramps at Anna Statue junction, Hope college junction, Kalapatti junction, and Nava India junction to help motorists simple entry destinations.
The plan is greeting among the inhabitants as it reduces traffic and accidents in the city.
