The abbrevation CSR stands for Corporate social Responsiblity referred as a corporate initiative to asses and take responsiblity for the company’s effects on the environment and impact on social welfare.
District Collector G.S. Sameeran on Friday urged the industries and voluntary organizations to contribute funds under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to vaccinate workers and the needy through private hospitals according to the report published in THE HINDU
This measure is to avoid the wastage of vaccines that was procured by private hospitals and also to get more people inoculated so that Coimbatore is safe if there is a third wave,” said one of the participants.
The minister said to TOI Coimbatore that they had collected Rs 61lakhs from corporate social funds so far and 7,878 people could be vaccinated free of cost with same. Till now, The Coimbatore district has vaccinated 10.97 lakh people so far.
