Former India captain MS Dhoni has gifted a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey with his name and number to Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf. Harris also thanked Dhoni and the CSK team manager for the gift.
“Legend & Captain Cool MSdhoni has gifted me this beautiful jersey. Thank you all for this,” Harris tweeted. Although Rauf had no chance of playing against Dhoni, Rauf was part of Pakistan’s playing XI when both teams played in the Super 12 stage of last year’s T20 World Cup. Significantly, Dhoni was also an advisor to the Indian team. Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in the match played at the Dubai International Stadium.
Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020, is now set to play in the upcoming 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Before the mega auction this year, the CSK team retained Dhoni for Rs 12 crore. Raouf, on the other hand, is currently in Australia for the current season of the Big Bash League (PPL). Raouf, 28, has taken three wickets in two matches so far.
