As fuel prices rise in the country, people are increasingly interested in buying electric vehicles. Therefore, the government is focusing on improving the infrastructure for electric vehicles. Currently you only need to spend Rs 2,500 to install an electric vehicle charger in your home.
Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Roy said the first 30,000 applicants applying to set up an electric vehicle charging station would be given a grant of Rs 6,000, which would cost about Rs 2,500 per charger. Roy said the move by the Delhi government would reduce the cost of installing chargers by up to 70%
The Delhi government will charge only Rs 2,500 to install personal chargers for light vehicles, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers, in malls, apartments, hospitals and other places in the city. He announced that consumers can reap the benefits through the DISCOM portal for that area, or by calling the helpline numbers for setting up private charging stations.
