The reserved train was operated from Coimbatore and via Coimbatore. Express trains were then operated with unreserved compartments. Additional boxes are being added to trains as the number of passengers begins to increase.
Following this, high-speed trains with unreserved compartments will be operated on the Coimbatore route from today. The Salem Railway Divisional Administration said in a press release: –
Coimbatore-Tirupati Express (No: 22616) with 6 general second class compartments will run from February 8. This train will leave Coimbatore at 6 am and reach Tirupati at 1.20 pm via Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Jolarpet.
The Ernakulam-Bangalore Intercity Express (No: 12678) will be operated from today with 4 general second class compartments. This train will leave Ernakulam at 9.10 am and reach Coimbatore at 12.50 pm via Thrissur and Palakkad. From here it will reach Bangalore via Tirupur, Erode and Salem at 7.25 pm.
