Based on the concept of ‘Waste to Wealth’, huge forms of objects including cars, telephones and gramophones have been created and exhibited in Periyakulam using the used electronic waste and garbage waste in Coimbatore.
In order to make Coimbatore district beautiful, the Municipal Corporation is taking various initiatives under the Smart City Project. As a part of it, the corporation administration has taken a different initiative in Coimbatore Ukkadam Pool. Huge selfie points have been set up with plastic waste collected from the Vellalur landfill where the corporation’s garbage is dumped and from different areas.
Giant figures of 5 objects including car, telephone, gramophone, water pump are made from plastic and iron waste. These colossal figures have been made with a total of 5 tonnes of materials such as computer keyboards, mouse, hard disk and other electronic waste collected from various offices and iron waste collected from factories. It has gained popularity among the public.
