Golden drop: The life saving project inaugurated in Coimbatore
The Rotaract club of Coimbatore Main has come up with a new Breast milk donation project called “Golden drop”.
Around 600 mothers in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode are donating breast milk to the milk bank at CMCH. After the breast milk bank at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital ( CMCH) has turned out to be a hit, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital was inaugurated the milk bank on Saturday with the objective of reinforcing the importance of breastfeeding.
Ms. Nathira, President of the club said, ” The donated milk is screened for all infections, pasteurized and then frozen again, before being given to underweight and pre- matured babies”.
Each drop of breast milk donated can change the life of the child. Young lactating mothers should come in front voluntarily to donate their excess breast milk which will be saving lives.
