The government college of technology on Thadagam Road on Saturday conducted its 16th and 17th graduation day for the 2020 and 2021 batches, respectively, at the college auditorium.
Principal K Manonmani presided over the function and presented the annual report. He said the college would continue to contribute the best engineers to the society. S Sathish Kumar, deputy director of revenue intelligence, Coimbatore, who was the guest of honour, stressed on the importance of maintaining honesty and integrity in one’s profession. He awarded gold medals to 10 postgraduates and nine graduate students.
Baskar Subramanian, founder and CEO of Amagi Media Labs, Bangalore, who was also the guest of honour, said India was in need of a large number of entrepreneurs. “Hence, developing entrepreneurial skills is all the more important for the engineering graduates, than to seek jobs outside.” He awarded gold medals to 11 postgraduate and nine graduate students. In total, 354 graduate and 62 postgraduate students of the 2020 batch and 422 graduate and 84 postgraduate students of the 2021 batch received their degree certificates on the day.
