Dr. Alagusundaram in his speech said that the students were lucky to be a part of such an illustrious institution and he recalled three women leaders who have gone to make strides in their life.

First Example was that of Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the lady behind Biocon and one of the richest women in the country and recalled how she started off in a garage after her masters in brewery in Australia. The start was modest with getting the peptide being made at the garage before becoming the Biocon that we know of today.

The second two examples were that of former PM Indira Gandhi and that of the former CM Selvi J Jayalalitha.

He said both the women made impactful decisions at their time especially with Indira Gandhi wanting to get the food security done for the nation. The early discussions and delegation of that with Dr Swaminathan, the Scientist and Subramanian the Minister made all the difference and today India is leading food producer from being not able to feed all its citizens once upon a time.

One of the characteristics that took them far was they were mentally strong ladies. Some of the pictures from the graduation day Ceremony.
