Back to back health schemes from the ruling government
The Coimbatore corporation launched the ‘ Kalaingarin Varumun Kappom’ health scheme on Tuesday. The Times of India report says that at least 2,256 gained benefits from the first camp organized at the Corporation middle school, Chinnavedampatti.
The camp inaugurated by the corporation commissioner Rajagopal Sunkara had at least 21 stalls with doctors of various specializations such as cardiology, orthopedics, etc. It offered blood tests, COVID-19 vaccinations, and other services. Pregnant women were also given nutritional kits.
People diagnosed with symptoms such as TB, orthopedics, and eye problems were referred to various hospitals for further treatment.
“People with heart-related ailments were given initial treatment and free medicines,” the officer said.
Earlier the DMK government has also launched “Makkalai thedi maruthuvam”, a health-related scheme.
