The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras) has teamed up with five Indian start-ups to develop technologies for use in space and space exploration. The IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation focuses on the ecosystem for space technologies. These initiatives include on-demand access to data, rapid rocket launch capability, satellite design and assembly, sensors, future generation communication, satellite security, ground stations, data processing and more.

The organization, known as the Indian Space Technologies and Applications Design Bureau (I-STAC.DB), co-ordinates initiatives such as Drone Gas, Agnical Cosmos, Galaxy Eye Space Solutions, Mind Grove Technologies, and Resilio Labs. They will create next-generation applications.

The project will be implemented in collaboration with a number of technology companies that can deliver the ultimate needs of customers using space-based products or services. Professor V Kamkodi explains the importance of such efforts.

Professor V Kamkodi is a member of the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation and the National Security Advisory Council of the Government of India.
“The time has come to mobilize the talents in our country. We must provide a complete solution to bring about an ecosystem for space and related technologies,” he says.

The IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is a body funded by the Government of India. The organization, which is run by IIT Madras, is engaged in leading research in various fields of technology and global standardization of technologies in collaboration with key market participants across the technology and education sectors.
