India got Fourth place for Most Spam call
The main problem for smart phone users is spam calls and text messages. It has been reported that more and more spam calls and text messages are coming in for telemarketing, insurance, credit card etc.
According to a recent report by True caller, which has been hit hardest by spam calls, India ranks fourth. India, which was ranked ninth in the last 2020 report, is ranked fourth this year.
Spam calls involving telemarketing are said to hold 93.5%. Brazil tops the list with an average of 32.9 spam calls a month. Similarly Peru ranks second with an average of 18.02 spam calls per month. Ukraine is in third place and India is in fourth place.
The study revealed that on an average, 6,64,000 calls are received every day and 27,000 calls per hour. The KYC scam is one of the most prevalent scams in the country. This is where the fraudulent digital payment service comes into play.
