Venkatesh Iyer has been named the much-needed all-rounder and finisher for the Indian team in 2021. He got mixed up in IPL and got a chance to play for the Indian team.
Venkatesh Iyer, who has been playing for Madhya Pradesh since 2015, is currently playing for the Indian team in place of Hardik Pandya. He is currently in the squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa.
When asked about playing for the Indian team, he said, “It was a wonderful experience, every cricketer wants to play for the country. I am so happy that it happened. Everyone on the Indian team welcomed me.
The captain and coaches want me to do bowling and not just focus on batting. Whenever I get the chance to bowl, I will definitely try to give my best.
I have played a lot of bounce tracks and the best thing about playing domestic cricket is getting the chance to play on a lot of track that have extra bounce.
Hardik Pandya says I have come to the place. But, I did not come to fill anyone’s place, I want to contribute to the success of the team, that is my intention. I hope to be on the team since I can bat and bowl.
I have been batting in the middle order for a long time. I have been a starter for the last two years. I also batted in the middle order in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy so it is not new to me wherever the field goes down.
I played with great confidence in the IPL. I knew I would do better if given the chance. This is my first season and I played with the mindset of enjoying every second, no matter what happens. ”
