It is no longer legal to use cannabis in Malta

cannabis, malta Author

Malta is the first European country to legalize the use of cannabis for home and personal use. Malta has legalized the use of cannabis, making it a criminal offense to possess or use it. In this regard, a meeting of the Parliament last Tuesday approved the cultivation and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Based on this, it has been stated that people 18 years of age and above can possess 7 grams of cannabis and should not grow more than four cannabis plants at home. The bill received 36 votes in favor and 27 votes against. Some changes have been made to the law in the face of opposition.

Accordingly, smoking in public places is punishable by a fine of 235, as well as a fine of up to € 500 for smoking cannabis in the presence of children under 18 years of age. Arrangements will be made to provide appropriate awareness and treatment to children who use cannabis without punishing them.
