KCT Business School Hosts KCTBS Marathon 2025, Championing Tribal Upliftment
KCT Business School (KCTBS) successfully hosted the KCTBS Marathon 2025 at 6 AM on the Kumaraguru campus. The event saw an overwhelming response, with over 470 participants, including students from Kumaraguru Institutions, corporate professionals, school students, and the public. The marathon was organized to support the tribal community of Kallarpudur, reinforcing KCTBS’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.
The funds raised from the marathon will be allocated to 15 student-led development projects that focus on education, healthcare, employment, and infrastructure improvements for the 1,500 tribal households of Kallarpudur. The community, located in the Odanthurai Panchayat near Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu, primarily depends on agriculture, honey collection, embroidery, and event decoration for their livelihood.
However, they continue to face critical challenges such as school dropouts, early marriages, lack of healthcare facilities, inadequate high school education, poor sanitation, and the absence of public transport services. Through these initiatives, KCTBS aims to create sustainable solutions that will improve their quality of life.
The marathon also recognized outstanding performances across various categories. In the Open Men’s category, Krishnakumar M secured the first position, while Poongodi P topped the Open Women’s category. Among students from Kumaraguru Institutions, Mohammed Arif won in the Men’s division, and Arivumathi emerged victorious in the Women’s division.
In the school students’ category, Nithish V claimed the top spot in the School Boys division, while Carshini S secured first place in the School Girls division. The corporate category also saw remarkable performances, with Akilan A winning in the Above 35 years division, Lakshmikandan B topping the Above 40 years division, and Veera K emerging as the winner in the Above 45 years division.
