The 41st batch of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) entered the campus on Wednesday along with their parents as they were greeted by the college management and the academic staff during KCT Swagatham 2024.
As the institution marked another milestone in grooming the future engineers, Swagatham 2024 was an event to thank the parents for reenforcing their faith on the legacy of the Kumaraguru Institutions that stands tall for four decades now.
Excerpts from the Presidential Address by Dr. B K Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Kumaraguru Institutions:
Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam Ayya firmly believed that quality education is the key to transforming the minds of young people, which in turn can uplift society and, ultimately, the nation. While he was a successful industrialist, building one of India’s largest industrial empires, his true fulfilment lay in his passion for education, leading to the establishment of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT).
When the opportunity arose to start self-financed engineering colleges, it was under the leadership of Hon’ble MGR, the then Chief Minister, who personally supported Dr. Mahalingam’s vision. The realization of this dream was made possible by the efforts of many, especially Professor Arumugam, whose contributions were invaluable in those early days.
Today, with over 7,000 students, including 1,560 new entrants this year alone, KCT stands as one of the premier institutions in Tamil Nadu. This success is a testament to the dedication of our principals, professors, and non-teaching staff who have worked tirelessly to reach this stage.
However, our journey is far from over. As India’s education policies undergo significant changes, we are committed to adapting and evolving to meet these new challenges. To the students before me, you are the bearers of 7,000 dreams. I assure your parents that we are dedicated to realizing these dreams. Arutselvar’s vision will not be in vain, and I see a bright future for every one of you and for India.
Excerpts from the Special Address by Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, President, Kumaraguru Institutions:
“Welcome to Kumaraguru, where today marks a pivotal moment—the inauguration of the 41st batch. This day is more than just an introduction; it symbolizes the start of a transformative journey. For over 40 years, Kumaraguru has consistently grown, and you are now part of this legacy.
Your 12 years of hard work have brought you here, and we deeply appreciate your choice to join us. College life is different; it demands ownership of your journey. While your degree and career are important, education here is about holistic development—intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
