Speaking during the presentation he stressed the importance of how advertising and branding for a business. Every brand has to evolve over a period of time. Building a brand is not just the tag line and the TVCs its more its the people the culture etc also going into the same.

Branding is more than sum of all parts. Change is constant.  Brand Building is a platform for future exponential growth.

He went on to discuss the brand growth story of Kovai Pazhamudhir Nilayam.

The intro actually made it as a lifestyle brands… T.K Chandiran, Founder Chairman, The Chennai Silks in his intro said clothing is an integral part of human existence and then it has evolved.

Mr. Sunil added that lifestyle brands become the norm.

Mr. Suhail added his lifestyle brand was target to mens young trendy lifestyle created aboard with a certain amount of Indianess in it. Its an interpretation of the Indian adaptation.

Trends are changing by the week, even for ceramics is what S. Muthuraman, said. The impact of digital is making non perishable items useless so fast.

Some pointers from the discussion:

Selling the right product at the right time to the right consumer is foremost.

Chennai Silk has a Vivahah Saree priced at 1,00,000 USD in 2008. (sold 50 sarees)

On e-tailing:

Comparing and feel and touch is important.

Focus on customers, customisation is happening more.

Will survive with online and offline together. Also talk on the profitability.

Get on a middle grounds to reach new customers.

Its an opportunity to expand and more aggressive relocation.

On competition

Competition is good.

Customer getting more variety, and creating value is foremost for them to continue patronage.

Market base increases with competition.

10:00 am : Hello Coimbatore, is at the Kongu Members Meet, a business community interaction meet under the aegis of Retailers Association of India and PSGIM.

The business community especially from the retail to jewellery to sports and other categories were in full attendance at the PSGIM’ Convention Hall, to explore business and future trends in their sector.

The event started with Dr. N Balu, Director, Cosmos Sports LLP welcomed the gathering.

B. Soundarajan, Chairman, Suguna Group inaugurated the event.

Dr. R Nandagopal, Director, PSGIM gave the presidential address.

Mr. K R Premnath, Joint Managing Director, Shri Coimbatore Jewellers also gave a special speech.
