Y20 Talk was held at Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous) on Saturday, 23rd Sep 2023 at 11.00am in the Marappa G. Aruchami Auditorium. Dr. C.A.Vasuki, Secretary and Director of the college presided over the function. Her Excellency Governor of Telangana & Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr.Tamilisai Soundarajan, was the Chief Guest of the occasion and delivered the Special Address.
The celebration began with National Anthem, and Tamil Thai Vazhthu &Lighting of the Lamp followed by the welcome Address by the State Convenor, Y20 India, Mr. M.Abisheak Asir.
The Secretary and Director of the college, Dr.C.A.Vasuki delivered the Presidential Address. During her address she stated that India has assumed Presidency of G20 on 1st Dec 2022 for a period of one year upto 30th Nov 2023. She thanked the chief guest Her Excellency Governor of Telangana and Lt.Governor of Puducherry Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan for accepting the invitation and for having consented to ignite the nation’s first spirit in the Youth. She felt happy to host this event on the occasion of the college commemorating the Golden Jubilee year. She mentioned that in the year 2035 our Bharath will be the largest country with 65% of the youth aged between 15 to 35 hence we have to provide the youth with wide avenues by up skilling and reskilling them in all the aspects. She touched upon the importance of holistic development to face the global challenges and further added that our country is blooming in different occasions through the start-ups initiated by the youth. She reminded that G20 concluded with the philosophy of living in harmony. She thanked the government for recognising the start-ups, as there is a gradual increase from 471 to 92,683 startups by the youth. She mentioned that, all the leaders have come to a mutual understanding on the importance of foundational learning. The educationalists play a major role in providing quality education to the youth. She motivated the youth to “Reach the unreached”. It is the right time for every one of us to commit and provide inclusive, equitable, high-quality education and skilled training for all. She mentioned the saying of Swami Vivekananda that Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man, education is essential to nurture critical thinking in the minds of the youth. She concluded the address by proudly stating that the college has been selected for ISRO Science Exhibition in the month of Oct 2023.
The eminent Chief Guest, Her Excellency Governor of Telangana &Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr.Tamilisai Soundarajan, commenced her special Address by happily stating that the sanctioning of 33% reservation for women signifies the victory for the womanhood. She mentioned that G20 is for the government and Y20 is for the youth. She stressed that it is in the hands of the youngsters to take the country to the greater heights and She also insisted on the importance of Economy, environment, education, health and sports. She advised the younger generation to protect the earth by avoiding plastics, to plant more trees and to reduce the emission of Carbon dioxide. She elaborated that the goods manufactured in India have attained utmost respect in the other countries and in this way our country has become self-reliant. She praised the people of Bharath for increasing the start-ups to more than 90,000. She proudly stated that the foreign countries are welcoming the Indian products nowadays due to the Industrial development. She highlighted that while comparing to all other countries our India has produced over 2lakhs PPE Kit per day during the time of Covid crisis which is the proud moment for our country. She pointed out the statement of our Honourable Prime Minister to reach the target of 5 trillion economy. She further stressed on the importance of NEP 2020. She advised the youth to save electricity, water and to minimize the usage of gadgets. The youngsters should strive to be entrepreneurs and not mere employees. She adviced the youngsters to update day to day events by quoting “we should lead gadgets and it should not lead us”. she advised the students to be brave enough to acquire knowledge and to be self-confident. She proudly stated that our Indians play several major roles as CEO s in foreign corporate offices. She finally concluded that an individual has to change in order to bring in changes in the nation.
The Special Address was followed by the Felicitations offered by Shri Nainar Nagendran, Member of Legislative Assembly, Tirunelveli, Smt.S.Chandira Priyanga, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Puducherry, Thavathiru Ramanatha Kurubara Swamigal, Siravai Adheenam Kaumaramadalayam & Shri G.Karthikeyan, Correspondent DOBBS Public School, Coimbatore & District incharge Coimbatore Y20.

A Panel Discussion on the topic Youth Leadership for 2047- “Shaping the Youth of Bharath” was conducted and the following dignitaries acted as Panellists Dr.F.X.Lovelina Little Flower, Shri.Rajesh Govindarajulu, Shri Sudhakar Narayanan, Mrs.S.Gayathri & Shri Harish Selvakumar.
