Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) has partnered with Tamil Nadu Smart and Advanced Manufacturing Centre (TANSAM) by signing an MoU at the KCT TANSAM Technology Summit 2024 held on 20 December 2024 in the Kumaraguru campus.
This collaboration will have a TANSAM Centre for Innovation established at Kumaraguru campus which will be powered by TIDCO and Siemens, to drive advanced learning, training, and innovation.
The Centre will offer industry-certified training programs for KCT students, faculty, and industry professionals. Joint certifications by TANSAM, TIDCO, Siemens, and KCT will enhance technical skills and career readiness. Additionally, the partnership will generate revenue through specialized certifications and foster industry-academia collaboration, offering real-world problem-solving experiences and cutting-edge resources.
“The TANSAM-KCT collaboration exemplifies a shared commitment to advancing technological excellence and creating a skilled, future-ready workforce,” said the Chief Guest Mr. Sukhpreet Singh, CEO of TANSAM during the event.
He said this partnership is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial application, fostering opportunities for students, faculty, and professionals to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies.
Mr. Singh underscored TANSAM’s mission to empower individuals with the skills needed to excel in research, industry, and entrepreneurship. By providing access to advanced tools and industry-relevant problem statements, TANSAM encourages students to go beyond academic boundaries and embrace real-world challenges.
Mr. Singh asked participants to step out of their comfort zones, engage actively, and transform challenges into meaningful solutions.

Thirumalai Kumar, Associate Vice President & Head of Research Group, Autonomous Systems & Control – India, Siemens Technology and Services Pvt. Ltd.
He emphasized on the critical importance of multi-disciplinary learning in today’s world. “Coming from an electronics background, I realized the importance of expanding my skillset. Learning CAD and NX software was transformative, enabling me to model innovative solutions. Today, these tools are more accessible, empowering you to tackle real-world problems, he said.

Dr. M. Ezhilarasi, Principal, Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), highlighted India’s demographic advantage and its responsibility to continuously skill and upskill. Acknowledging the longstanding gap between industry needs and academic output, she noted the convergence driven by government support and technological advancements. Dr. Ezhilarasi stressed integrating such technologies into the curriculum through multidisciplinary, project-based learning, urging students to seize these opportunities to shape the future.
