Kumaraguru Institutions Signs MoU with Grasim Industries Limited
On 20th November 2023, Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) and Grasim Industries Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) towards enhancing awareness on synthetic fibre and creating fashion products from the same.
The broader scope of the MoU includes providing technical knowledge sessions to students, supporting research works, providing training to faculty, supporting students with respect to projects, internships, and placement.
The MOU was signed by Dr D Saravanan, Principal, KCT and Mr. Ramesh, General Manager- Marketing (Women Woven), Grasim Industries Limited (Pulp & Fibre Business) in the presence of members from both the organisation. KCT was represented by Prof. A Pavendhan, Associate Dean- Textile Cluster, Dr V Ramesh Babu, HOD, Department of Textile Technology, and Dr S Sundaresan, Associate Professor- Textile Technology. Grasim was represented by Mr. Sankar, Mr. Thangavel, and Mr. Venkatesh.
As part of the scope, Aditya Birla Cellulose has established a Resource Centre at Department of Textile Technology, KCT. The centre would be called ‘Liva Resource Centre” where specimens of fibres, yarns and fabrics are made available. The centre was made open by the Grasim team in the presence of students and faculty of KCT.
