Kumaraguru Student becomes the First Girl Student from Asia to receive the 2023 IEEE AESS Engineering Scholarship

Kumaraguru takes pride in announcing that Ayushi Gautam, a final year student from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) Coimbatore has become the first girl student ever to receive 2023 IEEE AESS Engineering Scholarship of $10,000. The scholarship is being given from year 2019 and so far, only male students from non – Asian Universities have bagged the scholarship.

The IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) is a society of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) that focuses on the advancement of integrated electronic systems and large-scale integrated interoperable systems.

Ayushi is the first student from any Asian University to secure this international recognition. She received this commendation for her excellent academic and research accomplishments. The scholarship is given to two students in the undergraduate level and Ayushi is one among them. Under this scholarship she will get a single annual award of $10,000 USD and a certificate.

Fascinated by Space and Space technology, Ayushi joined Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS KCT), which is a student-based organization working on Space projects at KCT.

Participation in International Space Challenge (ISC), Sounding Rocketry and Space Science Challenge (SSC) where she played major roles in developing electronics and Radio Frequency (RF) systems helped to improve her technical abilities.

Getting selected for the Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Fellowship 2022, she was awarded the chance to work under renowned Prof. Debatosh Guha from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata. This opportunity flourished her with the astounding concepts of Antennas and its applications.

Basically, from Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh, Ayushi chose KCT for her engineering and she is in the final year of her graduate program. She is presently interning in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Feeling elated over receiving the scholarship, Ayushi thanked the Kumaraguru Institutions and faculty members for the support. She said that the scholarship has come as a huge encouragement in pursuing her interest and passion.
