Kumaraguru Students Recognized for Demonstrating Excellence during Achievers Award 2024

At the 12th edition of Achievers Awards at Kumaraguru institutions, about 150 students who have demonstrated their excellence in academics, sports, research, club participation, department associations and social services were recognized on 04 May 2024.

The Founder Chairman of Kumaraguru Institutions Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam was always a pioneer in recognising excellence in individuals and Kumaraguru Institutions takes his mission forward by celebrating the shining stars among graduating Batch of students (2020-2024) by bestowing them with the Achievers Awards.

This award is bestowed up on the students who demonstrate an extraordinary feat of passion, commitment, diligence, and dedication in their chosen fields of interest ranging from academics to sports.

Welcoming the awardees, Dr Vijila Edwin Kennedy expressed appreciation for the awardees’ commitment achieved through late nights and sacrifices compared to their peers. Dr. Vijila also recognized the crucial role of parents in supporting student success and congratulated them for their efforts. She reminded everyone of the institution’s founder, Dr. N. Mahalingam, as an inspiration for the Achievers Awards program. She asked students to consider this award as a motivating pit stop to pursue future achievements.

Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions in his presidential address acknowledged the challenges of selecting awardees from a large student body. He emphasized that achievement is not a one-time feat, but a continuous effort. He described the event as a celebration of human potential and a reminder to students of their limitless possibilities.

Vanavarayar highlighted the rapidly changing world driven by advancements in technology like AI. He stressed the need for future leaders who can address global challenges like poverty and climate change. He implored the awardees to become “serial achievers” who contribute to society, not just for personal gain.

The address also recognized the crucial roles of parents, teachers, and peers in student success. Vanavarayar concluded by expressing his pride in the awardees and his hope that their achievements will inspire future generations.

The Achievers Awards ceremony is an annual recognition of talents among the graduating batch of students since 2013. The awards were given to students from Kumaraguru College of Technology, KCT Business School and Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) who have proven their mettle in multiple arenas.
