The Legends League, a new cricket series featuring former cricketers similar to the IPL cricket series, starts on January 20. There will be one team representing India, one team comprising Asian players, and one team comprising world players with a total of 3 teams participating.
The Indian team participating in this series is named as ‘Maharaja of India’. In it, Indian action players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan are playing. Along with Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Badrinath, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Naman Ojha, Sanjay Bunker, Nayan Mongia, Manpreet Gony, Hemang Pathani, Venugopal Rao, Amit Bandari and Munaf Patel are also in the squad.
The Asian team is named ‘Asia Lions’. The squad includes Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Saminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwidrana, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Misbah-ul-Haq, Azhar Mahmood, Mohammad Hafiz, Mukherjee and Ubamah Ghulam.
The names of the remaining Rest of the World team and the names of the players who will feature in it will be announced soon. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has not been named in the Indian squad for the series.
