Mega Wedding Food Festival and Exhibition as a part of Coimbatore Vizha

Nearly 1000 caterers across Tamil Nadu will come together to throw a grand wedding food festival in Coimbatore on November 30th and December 1st, and it will feature 350-400 varieties of mouth-watering, multi-cuisine dishes in a one mega-buffet form, said Madhampatty Nagaraj, President of Tamilnadu Caterers Association on Thursday.

The Association announced the event titled ‘Wedding Food Festival and Exhibition‘ and its logo was released by special guests including Managing Director of Sri Krishna Sweets – Coimbatore M.Krishan, Founder of Aroma Group Ponnusamy, Designated Officer of FSSAI for Coimbatore Tamilselvan, MD of Classic Polo Sivaram, Chairman of Coimbatore Vizha 2024 Arun Senthilnathan and a few others.

On behalf of the Association, its State Treasurer Dhayalan addressed the press and media. He said the event will be held at CODISSIA Grounds. The food fest will also include a wedding expo where wedding decoration planners, photography brands, jewellery and textile brands will also set up stalls to showcase their works and collection.

“Our Association has almost 500 members, and we are planning to add another 500 caterers to take part in this event to throw a feast that Coimbatore has never seen before.It will be a sumptuous feast with quality entertainment programs featuring various popular artists. We are planning for that. The bookings will be via online primarily. The entry fee would be Rs. 800 for adults and Rs.500 for children,” Dhayalan said.

“This event will be a part of Coimbatore Vizha 2024. Our goal is to deliver exceptional value to the visitors, ensuring that their experience far exceeds the entry fee of Rs.800. This event is not intended for profit but to create a memorable, grand-scale occasion that will delight all who visit in every way. We expect nearly 50,000 visitors total. Additionally, we are committed to giving back to the community by providing meals for the less fortunate during the festival,” Madhampatty Nagaraj added.

Earlier during the launch, one of the special guests, Raveendran,Hon. Secretary of RAAC said that Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore will offer to process the wet waste generated at the food festival. He also appealed to the organizers to make the wedding feasts as plastic-free as possible.

A similar request was also made by MD of Classic Polo Sivaram who is also the President of Vanathukkul Tirupur – Vetri Foundation. He appealed to make wedding feasts that are eco-friendly.

Designated Officer for Coimbatore from FSSAI, Tamil Selvan congratulated the Association for planning to organise such an event. He said a special licence needs to be taken by the organizers for holding this event. He asked them to hold the event, abiding all food safety norms.

Sri Krishna Sweets’ MD, Krishnan and Founder of Aroma, Ponnusamy expressed that this event will no doubt be a historic one and it can be easily pulled off by the caterers.
