Minister Anbil Mahesh inaugurates PSG Sarvajana School centenary celebrations

The centenary celebration of PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School got off to a wonderful start today at the campus with the Minister of School Education, Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, inaugurating the celebrations and gracing the event. PSG & Sons Charities Managing Trustee Mr. L. Gopalakrishnan presided over the celebration.

P.S.G. Sarvajana Higher Secondary School was established in 1924. The school has now completed a century, significantly this was one of the first initiatives of PSG & Sons Charities whose vision today stands tall with the PSG brand in the area of education and industry in Coimbatore and more so nationally and internationally.

District Collector Mr. Kranthi Kumar, IAS and City Commissioner Mr. M Prathap, IAS also graced the occasion.

During the occasion, L. Gopalakrishnan, recalled the vision and invoked the nostalgia of the school and how it’s still one of the best schools in this part of the country.

He also added, “P.S.G. Sarvajana School is the first institution of the P.S.G. group. It started with seven teachers and now operates with 81 teachers.”

The Minister of School Education Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi during his speech, praised the school’s achievements and emphasized the importance of listening to the knowledge and wisdom of teachers. He further emphasised that the students need to listen to their teachers and parents to be able to succeed in life.

He also recalled that the likes of great leaders, Periyar, Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore had visited this institution and he was happy to be here.

The school administration honored the former Principal teachers and teachers with a memento during the occasion.

It is worth mentioning that the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana was sung at this school even before India got Independence.
