National Conference on ‘Innovations and Emerging Trends in Natural Therapeutics, Molecular Biological and Structural Analysis of Biomolecules (IETNMS-2024)’, held on 10.12.2024
The Department of Biochemistry, PSG College of Arts & Science hosted a National Conference on “Innovations and Emerging Trends in Natural Therapeutics, Molecular Biological and Structural Analysis of Biomolecules (IETNMS-2024)” on 10.12.2024 at GRD Auditorium. The Conference brought together experts and researchers across the country to share their knowledge and insights.
The Conference was inaugurated by Emeritus Professor Kini R.M from the National University of Singapore. He emphasized the importance of Biochemistry in advancing our knowledge also he chaired the first session delivering a fascinating talk on venom, synthesis of anti-venom from the toxins.
The second session was handled by Dr.Devarajan Karunakaran, Emeritus Professor, IIT Madras, Chennai. He delivered a thought-provoking speech on the relationship between cancer and genome mutation and also discussed latest advancements in molecular biology.
In the third session, Dr. Lakshmi Subramanian, Chief Scientific Officer, Swasti Veda Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, shared his extensive knowledge on the medicinal properties of plants and their potential applications in modern medicines.
The final session of the conference was handled by Dr. G. Sridevi, Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University. The information shared by her about the involvement of genetic engineering and AI in the plants-based research was truly fascinating.
The winners of oral and poster presentation were awarded with prizes in the valedictory session. Around 150 participants from various colleges participated and benefited by the conference.
