National Model Schools to open a Cricket Academy in Collaboration with renowned Coach Thiyagarajan
Coimbatore. National Model Schools, one of the premier educational institutions in Coimbatore will be inaugurating their career driven Cricket Academy on the 3rd of November, 9.30 am at the school campus.
The Academy will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Shankar, All rounder and member of Indian National Team, (BCCI), He will also share his journey with the students and help with some tips to excel in cricketing career.
Mr.Guruswamy, Coimbatore District Cricket Association Vice president & Chief Coach Ramakrishina school, and Mr.Sasi Kumar Samraj, Founder Chairman, The Western Ghats international School Coimbatore have consented to be the Guest of Honour in the honourable presence of Mr. Thiyagarajan and his esteemed team members from Bouncers Academy.
Addressing the media today, Dr. P Mohan, Director and Correspondent of National Model Schools, Coimbatore said this has been in the works for over a year and the collaboration with Mr. Thiyagarajan and his Bouncer Cricket Academy will shape new talents out of Coimbatore. He added this is nice opportunity for those looking to make sports a career especially with the advent of IPL and TNPL matches, there is a great opportunity for the youngsters to come up in the cricketing ladder.
This Academy is in collaboration with Mr. Thiagarajan who has held various important positions in IPL especially with Rajasthan Royals. He would be guiding the enthusiasts under direct supervision at least a week. His team from Bouncers Academy will take up the everyday part of operating the academy.
There are three ‘nets’ planned for the start and will be expanded as and when the academy sees an uptick in demand and the infrastructure will also be ramped up to meet the requirements accordingly. Bouncer Academy has deputed coaches to the Coimbatore Academy full time and they will be helping the players on all the aspects of the game. They would also have theory classes from time to time and the school is well equipped to handle that part with a audio visual facility for the same.
Initially this coaching academy will be open to public and will accommodate about 60 students, the best part is that it is open to both boys and girls. The age limit is from the sixth standard onwards. Unlike other coaching centres, Dr. Mohan said this is a serious academy given the inputs from people who are presently coaching and who have coaching experience with Ranji, IPL teams.
Speaking to YourCoimbatore.com, Dr. Mohan feels this would be a learning ground for serious players and hopefully we will have players from the academy representing in all the levels of the games, TNPL, IPL and ultimately represent the nation. This is also the time wherein the students and parents are now appreciating sports as a career and we hope they will take full advantage of this facility.
