The city corporation has converted the integrated command and control centre functioning at the auditorium in RS Puram into a Covid-19 war room given the rising number of cases.
The around-the-clock call centre has been set up to receive information from people regarding Covid-19 and clarify doubts.
Teams consisting of 15 computer operators, five technical consultants and a doctor each have been deployed in three shifts.
The video wall at the centre will display the latest information related to Covid-19. People can get information on vaccination camps, medical camps and counselling. It will also guide those who have isolated themselves at home.
As many as 500 people have been roped in to conduct door-to-door inspections to find Covid-19 symptoms.
Simultaneously, dengue prevention activities are also being carried out by corporation officials with the help of 1,000 breeding checkers. They visit houses to check for freshwater sources that provide a breeding ground for dengue-spreading mosquitoes.
For Covid related doubts and queries, people can contact through helpline number 1077, 0422 2302323.
