The Government of Tamil Nadu is implementing various schemes for farmers through the Department of Agriculture. On that basis, the Chief Minister launched a scheme to provide one lakh new agricultural electricity connections with the aim of improving the welfare of the farmers.
So far 1235 farmers in the Coimbatore district have been provided with free electricity connections. The project has been implemented across the state at an estimated cost of Rs. 5 thousand 25 crores.
The target is to provide free electricity connections to 6363 farmers across the Coimbatore district. So far 1235 farmers across the district have been provided free electricity connections under this scheme.
