A total of 110 Kumaraguru staff including teaching, non-teaching and support staff were honoured for displaying excellence in their respective areas during K-Honors, the annual staff recognition event held on Wednesday in the college campus.
A total of 75 staff from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), 18 from Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) and 17 staff from Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA) were given awards and certificate of appreciation.
Dr Nandini Rangaswamy, Chairperson & Managing Director, GRG Educational Institutions & Chandra Group was the chief guest of the event who did the honour along with Chairman of Kumaraguru Institutions Dr B K Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Correspondent, Shri M Balasubramaniam and Joint Correspondent Shri Shankar Vanavarayar.
Addressing the staff, Dr Nandini asked them to internalise the institution’s vision and mission so that they can endeavour to create a better society and world at large. She said that the responsibility is vest on their shoulders as they shape the destiny of the society.
Gaining expertise in the subject matter being a perquisite for teachers, she said students of this generation think differently and teachers need to be prepared with all right answers and practical knowledge to face them.
“We need to know what students need and chose from range of approaches after brain storming and story boarding. This will capture interest of the students and also develop their critical thinking,” she said.
Dr B K Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Kumaraguru Institutions asked the staff to be happy about what they have done. At the same time, he reminded them of the growing challenges in the field of education. We have to challenge ourselves and every one of us needs to work really hard.
Congratulating the award winners, Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions stressed on the need for innovative ideas at the work place which can inspire each other.
“We want to be an ecosystem that is future focused. It can happen with the committed faculty members and staff,” he said.
