At the prestigious Osaka Hospital in Japan, patients who have been hospitalized for nearly 30 years, including caregivers, have been drinking toilet water as drinking water for nearly 30 years due to a faulty connection to a toilet faucet in response to a tap.
Currently, the hospital has to replace the pipes due to repairs in various parts of the hospital. Therefore, it was only when the repairs were being made that the hospital management came to know that the drinking water pipes were connected to the toilet pipes.
The reason for this incident controversy is that the drinking water quality of the hospital is inspected once a week and inspection reports are submitted.
The news has gone viral across Japan. Kazuhiko Nagadani, director and vice president of Osaka University Hospital, has apologized for the incident.
