The city corporation has instructed its officials to relay the roads dug up for laying pipelines for the Pillur drinking water project.
Corporation commissioner M Prathap and mayor Kalpana Anandakumar had inspected the ongoing pipeline laying work on Maniyakaranpalayam-Nallampalayam road in the city on Saturday in the presence of assistant engineer (incharge) M Noor Ahmed, assistant executive engineer Senthil Baskar and other officials.
After the inspection, they instructed the officials to relay the road properly as soon as the pipeline laying work got over. Motorists have been urging the authorities to finish the project quickly and relay the dug-up road. Prathap and Kalpana also inspected the construction of an additional classroom and a library at the corporation higher secondary school at Maniyakaranpalayam at a cost of 83 lakh.
