Prozone Go Green Marathon to be held on Sunday June 30th
Prozone Mall is organising a GO GREEN MARATHON on the Sunday the 30th of June 2024 at 5.30 am. This marathon is aimed at creating awareness about conservation of Nature and growing trees among the public. More than 5000 people are expected to participate in the Marathon.
Speaking during the media interaction at the Prozone Atrium today, Mr. Vijay Bhatia, Centre Director, Prozone Mall, said that this event is aimed at spreading awareness about Nature and its conservation among the youth and we are happy to see registrations over 5000 participants.
Mr. Balakrishnan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore District has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest and flag off the marathon. The flag off is scheduled for 5.50 am.
Mr. Santhosh Prathap, Actor Tamil Celebrity, Dr, Suman MS, Chairperson, Coimbatore Athletics Association, Mr. Srinivasan, Tech Chairman, CDAA, Vice Chairman & Tamilnadu Athletics Assn & Coach. Mr. John Singarayar, Treasurer, CDA, and Mrs. Deepa Mohanraj, Founder & Director, Kaumaram Prashanth Academy, Coimbatore will also be a part of the flag off event.
Further adding to the information, Mr. Bringnston Nathan said. “The event is under the aegis of Coimbatore District Athletic Association. There are three categories :
- 10 Km run for men / women with age group being 16 and above
- 5 Km run for boys/girls under 16 years of age
- and 1 Km run for kids who will go around the Mall.
The cash prizes for all the above across is over 2 lakhs rupees.
There is also a special 50 specially abled kids who will be given the t short and gifts for their participation and will be taken around the mall.
The fee for the Marathon is at 299/- while its subsidised to 150/- for the Govt School Students and Private school students at 150 for encouraging them. This has encouraged a lot of Govt school students to participate in the marathon.
All the participants will be given a kit with T shirtm and Certificate and Medals post the finishing. Break fast has also been arranged at the venue
PSG Hospitals is the medical partner with Paramedical and Medical Staff on duty during the marathon.
