PSG CAS Alumni Association – called as the Arts Alumni Association today organised an event to felicitate eminent alumni of PSG Institutions who are leading luminaries in the city and are leading the change for the development of the city and the nation.
Shri L Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons Charities presided over the event and Shri Jayakumar Ramdass, Mahendra Pumps, President, PSG Arts Alumni Association, PSG CAS participated in the presence of Dr. T Kannaian, Secretary and Dr. D Brindha, Principal PSG CAS.
Shri Jayakumar Ramdass, Mahendra Pumps, President, PSG Arts Alumni Association, also presented a Cheque for Rs. 50,00,000/- towards building an alumni hall. The alumni pooled together to donate this generous amount towards the fund.
The alumni during their acceptance speech recalled their association of being a part of Undergraduate, Post graduate studies at PSG and how it had helped them make it in life and how each of those days moulded them to be better citizen in a special way.
Mr. Ravi Sam in his acceptance speech was in awe of the contribution of PSG the world over not only in Coimbatore. He said he could bump into a PSG alumni, even at a temple festival recalling his meeting with Shiv Nadar an alumni of PSG Tech who himself introduced as an alumni of PSG.
Mr. Prashanth Subramanian, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry, Coimbatore said the networking possibilities that PSG as a brand offers is unparalleled. He said their business started off because the person actually gave credit to the institution that they had the degrees from.
Mr. T Rajkumar, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry recalled that his family of three generations have been alumni at PSG, his Dad, he and his son being alumni of PSG family is a matter of great pride. He recalled how his exposure at PSG CAS and a new approach to life at PSG Management Institute (then management studies) helped him to take the plunge into business those days.
Mr. R.R. Balasundharam, President, Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore went on to recall his past association and the love of Tamil language was sparked in this campus and how today he is able to steer the Kamban Kazhagam is because of what he received at PSG.
