PSG CAS, Centre for Innovation Incubation & Entrepreneurship conducts District Level Talk Competition and Expo on Sustainability & Innovation for Schools & College Students
PSG College of Arts & Science – Centre for Innovation Incubation & Entrepreneurship jointly collaborated with ZHA Sustainability Practitioners Club, Chennai took a commendable initiative of organising Sustainability Practitioners Conference which include an eco-friendly development talks called Talk Show & Sustainability Innovation Expo Competition for School & College students which unwraps sustainability research and fosters innovative ideas for a sustainable future.
The overall conference was inaugurated Thiru. Sivaguru Prabhakkaran, I.A.S., Commissioner, Corporation of Coimbatore and Mr. S Ramachandran, Founder & Managing Director of Keyem Infra Pvt. Ltd. Chennai. The Special Guests of the event were Mr. Saravanan Parisutham, Founder, TrusTrace, Coimbatore, Dr. Sumitra Binu, Head of CSR department, Walkaroo International Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, Mr. Anand SP, CEO, Solaimalai Enterprises, Madurai, Mrs. Vidya Senthilkumar, Director, Propel Industries Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore.
The Commissioner addresses the students of Schools & College about Innovation Practices with Sustainability approaches and mind-set development via academic curriculum. He empathise the waste generation of the city and struggles the government faces. He wishes the PSGCAS management for conducting these kind of program for promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship by addressing Sustainability theme.
Principal i/c of PSGCAS, Dr. M. Senguttuvan in his presidential address highlighted the need for innovations in sustainability practices for a better and wellness for present and future generations. Secretary of the College Dr. T. Kannaian accentuated the collective responsibility for a better future with innovative approaches. In beginning Dr. Krishnaveni – Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Cell welcomed the gathering and Mr. Vijayakumar – Manager of Entrepreneurship Development Cell was thanked the participants at the end of the program
The event was succeeded by giving recognition awards to CEO and headmasters of the corporation schools involved in the initiative and the corporate school kids shared their experience. The Talk Competition & Innovation Expo was an eye-opener to various sustainability issues happening around us which was concluded by recognising and appreciating the top speakers and best expo models presented by the students with cash prizes and medals by Commissioner & Principal of PSGCAS. Totally 120 Students from 10 Schools and 200 Students from PSGCAS were benefitted through this program. The event was well-received and a resounding success.
